COURSE DESCRIPTION

There are many TERMS IN USE today for the activity that was originally called Therapeutic Riding. There are two terms widely used today; Equine Assisted Activities and Equine Assisted Therapies. This course will explore and discuss each category, with the main focus on Therapeutic Riding.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to;

  • Identify the terms of use for Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies.
  • Define the roles in “The Team” within a Therapeutic Riding Lesson.
  • Understand how a Risk Management Protocol will assist in mitigating risk in a Therapeutic Riding Program.
  • Define the difference in the structures of starting up a Therapeutic Riding Program. 

This course will be of interest to individuals interested in learning differences between Equine Assisted Activities, Therapeutic /Adaptive Riding, and Hippotherapy.
