COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Stable Management (Advanced) is the next level in our Stable Management Series and will explore in more detail the aspects of owning and looking after a horse.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to;

  • Identify a balanced horse, and recognize poor conformation faults, unsoundness, and blemishes.
  • Gain knowledge on how to buy and transport a horse. 
  • Understand the importance of Parasite Control.
  • Discuss dental care, and aging a horse by the wear of their teeth.
  • Understand the differences in the types of shoes and their use.
  • Discuss the differences in diseases that are caused by viruses and/or bacteria, in which a vaccination regime should be used.
  • Gain knowledge of first aid procedures when the horse becomes sick or has an injury.  
  • Identify proper bandaging procedures and when they should be applied.

The Stable Management (Advanced) will be of interest to current or future horse owners wishing to advance their skills and knowledge in owning and looking after a horse.
