Western Rider Levels 3/4

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Western Rider Levels 3/4 Course will discuss in greater detail, the riding component, position, and correction of the rider care of the horse and how to apply polo rundowns, exercise bandages, hoof bandages as well as spider and figure 8 bandages. Students will learn in more detail the lunging aspects of training a young horse vs retraining a horse and the fundamentals of riding a variety of western disciplines.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to;

  • Identify rider anatomy and rider faults.
  • Describe how to use a round pen, and lunge line to train/retrain a horse.
  • Describe exercises to help improve rider position.
  • Discuss how nutrients play a major role in the horse’s well-being.
  • Understand how to apply spider, figure 8, and hoof bandages.
  • Understand how to apply exercise bandages and polo rundowns.
  • Identify a variety of Western disciplines and activities.
  • Identify types of western saddles and pads.
  • Understand the rider level 3/4 pattern component. 

The Western Rider Levels 3/4 Course will be of interest to all riders or future riders who wish to improve their knowledge and skill in the basics of good Western Equitation.
